The Los Angeles Lakers is beginning to defend their two time defending champions against the New Orleans Hornets in this first round of playoffs. This is the first step for the Lakers to defend their title this season and they are facing much difficulty as they expected. This is the 1st game for the two teams for the best of 7 series which means that whichever team that would win 4 games would advance to the second round of playoffs. The game happened on April 18, 2011 at the Staples Center Arena, Los Angeles California where the games had just begun.
At the first half, the game is very close and seems to be very difficult to predict. The New Orleans Hornets lead had come up to 11 after a big shot from Chris Paul as time winding down but Ron Artest pulled out a big three at the half court and ends the half to cut the Hornet’s lead by just 8. Kobe Bryant suffers from a bruise neck on his play heading through the sideline but Kobe did return to the game. But it was too much of Christ Paul in the second half as Paul is everywhere, shooting well and giving unselfishly the ball to his teammate which they really give the Lakers a hard time and a big lose in the first game of the series. The New Orleans Hornets scores a win in the series at Los Angels which gives the defending champs a big trouble to defend their title. The New Orleans Hornets win by 9, 109-100.
